Marketing Course Outline

This course is normally 2.5 hours per evening over a period of 4 weeks, that is, a total of 10 hours. Course fee is $130 and includes all course material. No previous knowledge in either subject is required.

 

 

Lesson 1

 

By the end of the first lesson you’ll be able to understand the deeper meaning  of Marketing. And you’ll understand the reasons for market segmentation. In the business planning you’ll be able to do 25% of your business plan by the next week.

Business Planning:

Ÿ   Analyse your Business

Ÿ   Analyse your Sales

 

Lesson 2

 

By the end of the second lesson you’ll be able to understand your business opportunities much better. You’ll know what the marketing mix is all about and its overall importance in the marketing plan of your business. You also will have a better understanding of Internet (online) marketing. And you’ll now have 50% of your  business plan by next week.

 

Marketing:

Ÿ   Analyse market opportunities

Ÿ   MM (Marketing Mix)

Ÿ   Online Marketing

Business Planning:

Ÿ   Analyse your Market

Ÿ   Analyse your Competition

 

Lesson 3

 

By the end of lesson three you’ll be able to use a promotional mix in your business. You’ll understand the importance of headline and body copy writing in your promotional material. And your business plan will now be 75% finished by next week.

 

Marketing:

Ÿ   The Promotional Mix

Ÿ   Copy writing

Ÿ   Exercise

Business Planning:

Ÿ   Summarise the result in a SWOT Analysis

Ÿ   Write the Plan

 

Lesson 4

 

By the end of lesson four you’ll have a good basic understanding of what to do in marketing your business. You’ll have finished the written business plan and will know the importance of the implementation and monitoring process.

 

Marketing:

Ÿ   Market Research and its importance

Ÿ   Different methodologies in research

Ÿ   Revision of Market Segmentation

Ÿ   Revision of STP

Business Planning:

Ÿ   Implementation of your business plan

Ÿ   Monitoring your business plan

 

There are only two parts to any business, that is, you have to have a product or service and you need a customer who is willing to exchange money for the product or service.

 

There are also only two functions to any business, these are, marketing and innovation.

 

In order for marketing to be effective, it has to be planned and in order to do this you’ll need a “foundation stone” which is the business plan. Any basic or complex business plan also always includes a marketing plan.
